Website Design and Development

Ember LifeSciences, a biotech startup, launched a six-month initiative to create a digital presence from scratch, with no existing brand identity or assets. My role was to lead the creative direction and design a website (https://www.emberlifesciences.com/) that would drive brand awareness while embodying the company’s innovative spirit. I developed a custom visual language, including a refined color palette, contemporary typography, and tailored iconography, to establish a cohesive and professional look. The challenge of building a brand from the ground up was addressed through close collaboration with the client to align the design with their mission of advancing life sciences, resulting in a site that balances technical authority with intuitive navigation.

The website development process involved iterative prototyping and thorough testing to ensure seamless performance across devices. With no prior assets, I sourced and created all visual elements, from hero images to interactive graphics, to engage users and convey Ember’s value proposition. By integrating subtle animations and a streamlined layout, the site captured the brand’s forward-thinking identity while improving user retention. The final website is a visually compelling, responsive platform that anchors Ember LifeSciences’ brand awareness, positioning them as a credible contender in the biotech sector.

Product Photography Shoot

To visually showcase Ember LifeSciences’ innovative biotech tools, I conceptualized and established the creative framework for a product photography shoot and edits, a key element of the brand awareness campaign. With no existing assets, I defined the photography needs and specifications, sourcing props and developing detailed style guides to ensure alignment with the newly created brand identity. While I was not physically involved in the shoot, I provided comprehensive direction to the photography team, specifying lighting, angles, and compositions to highlight the products’ sleek design and functionality. The challenge of creating a consistent visual narrative was met by ensuring the imagery complemented the website’s aesthetic.

The shoot’s planning phase involved creating mood boards and technical guidelines to maintain brand consistency, overcoming the absence of prior visual assets. I collaborated remotely with photographers to ensure the images met the established standards, focusing on high-resolution visuals suitable for multiple platforms. The resulting photography collection was meticulously edited for clarity and vibrancy, serving as versatile assets for the website, social media, and marketing collateral. This cohesive visual library significantly enhanced Ember LifeSciences’ brand visibility, establishing a professional and innovative presence in the market.

3D Rendering Direction

The development of 3D renderings for Ember LifeSciences’ product line was a critical component of the project, addressing the lack of pre-existing visual assets to boost brand awareness. I led the creative direction, working closely with 3D artists to transform complex biotech products into clear, visually striking representations. The challenge of balancing technical accuracy with aesthetic appeal was met by carefully selecting textures, lighting, and compositions that aligned with the website and photography guidelines. These renderings were crafted to make the products accessible to both scientific and general audiences, reinforcing Ember’s innovative identity.

To maintain brand consistency, I provided detailed guidelines for the 3D artists, outlining color schemes and visual tones that mirrored the established aesthetic. The process involved multiple rounds of revisions to ensure each rendering was both precise and engaging. The high-quality renderings became central to Ember’s digital and marketing efforts, prominently featured on the website and in promotional materials. By delivering dynamic and polished visuals, the 3D renderings significantly strengthened Ember LifeSciences’ brand presence, enhancing their market positioning within the biotech industry.
